🇬🇧 How to check the fuses?
1. Locate the Electrical Panel
Usually found in the hallway or walk-in closet
It looks like a metal or plastic cabinet mounted on the wall.
Behind the small door or panel, you’ll find either fuses or circuit breakers.
The panel may have a latch or handle to open it, or a slot that can be opened gently with a butter knife or screwdriver.
2. Check the Fuses
If the apartment has modern circuit breakers (common in newer buildings):
These are small levers or switches in a row.
The normal position is up or toward the “ON” marking.
If one of them is down or in the OFF position, it has tripped.
Flip the switch back up to restore power.
If it trips again immediately, a device may be faulty or the circuit is overloaded.
If the apartment has old-style screw-in fuses (common in older buildings):
These are round fuses that are screwed into place.
A blown fuse may have a dislodged indicator pin, a darkened fuse window, or burnt appearance.
The fuse must be unscrewed and replaced with a new one of the same type and rating.
