How can I make the apartment warmer?

There is underfloor heating in the bathroom, which can be adjusted with a white control knob located on the wall outside the bathroom (on the hallway side).

Floor heating settings:

0 = underfloor heating in the bathroom is turned off 1-3 = heating the bathroom floor, with 3 being the maximum setting for underfloor heating.

Please note that underfloor heating may take time to warm up, as concrete heats up slowly. Therefore, if the settings have been turned up to maximum today, the final effect will not be seen until the day after tomorrow.

How can I cool down the apartment?

In the evening, it is a good idea to ventilate the temporary home by opening a window or similar. During the day, it is recommended to keep the blinds and blackout curtains closed, so the temporary home does not heat up so easily.

How can I improve air circulation?

The apartment building has a centralized mechanical ventilation system, so normal ventilation is on all the time. Opening a window or similar is a good way to improve air circulation. Also, check that the bathroom underfloor heating is turned off. The underfloor heating control knob is on the hallway wall, near the bathroom, and should be set to the zero position, i.e., turned off.

Is there air conditioning?

No, there is not.

Can I open the windows?

Every temporary home has a ventilation window or some kind of French balcony or regular balcony door that can be opened.

Where can I smoke?

All Hiisi Homes locations are smoke-free, meaning smoking is not allowed in the temporary homes or on the balconies. Smoking is allowed on the street next to the property.

What should I do if there is a sewer smell in the bathroom?

A resourceful and self-reliant tenant checks that the bathroom's shower drain trap is properly attached. The trap is a plastic cover with a small handle that can be easily screwed on. If the cover is loose or not securely attached, sewer smells can escape from the pipes and enter the bathroom.

If the problem is not resolved with this solution or you are not comfortable dealing with the drain trap, please contact Hiisi's customer service at host@hiisihomes.fi or +358 20 7780 777.
