Hiisi Help
🇬🇧 Every Day Sustainability
We have compiled some practical tips here for us and for you in order to embrace sustainability in our daily lives. Sustainability as a concept is wide and present on many aspects of life.
Electricity & Water
Challenge your fellow homie to have only a quick shower and compete who shower the quickest. Close the tap while soaping yourself and maybe have a bit more refreshing cold shower whereafter you may pamper yourself inside warm bedding
While it gets colder outside - cook in the light of a candle, read a book or do some yoga. It’s time to chillax!
Most Hiisi locations are centrally heated and the central system always aims for the basic 20-21 degrees Celsius. In case the central heating is coming together a bit slower than expected take your woollen socks and jumpsuit and Hiisi Homies fully approve this fact.
The most rewarding of it all is when you may take these learning with you back home and actually see the effect
Recycling
Our Recycling Ideology:
We have wanted to challenge ourselves to learn new things and we do our best to make sure all materials used will have another life in the future. We are currently building an EcoCompass environmental system and we have dedicated to enhance our recycling practices little by little. With these tips you are also destined to succeed.
Our headquarters in our home town Nummela, Vihti have advanced recycling facilities featured and we have had the privilege of showing an example for all Hiisi Homies on how to go after more sustainable life both at the office and at the storage as well.
Most of our properties feature great recycling facilities already and we plan to develop the processes on-the-go. The locations of the sorting stations may be found from the arrival information messaging and also here from Hiisi Help locations.
All our temporary home starter packages feature both waste disposal bags and bio-waste bags which allow you to easily recycle mixed and bio waste. On top of this some locations feature multiple recycling bins in the kitchen allowing you to easily recycle plastic, cardboard, glass, metal and paper.
Pro tip is to collect all plastic waste into a plastic bag and please remember to remove the plastic bag prior putting cardboard waste to bin in case you collected cardboard into a plastic bag.
Public Transportation
We highly recommend preferring public transportation options always when possible – this way you’ll save the environment and you’ll have an option to do more than just count the number of the cars passing by while driving a car
Our property sites on our website feature tips on how to find the property with public transportation or you may take an electric scooter or a bike as well not forgetting trains, metro, tram, buses and whatnot
In Helsinki have a look HSL, Turku Föli and Tampere Nysse for public transportation routes and timetables.
